Chevron amethyst is sometimes called "dogtooth amethyst", I know not a very romantic name for this beautiful gemstone, but it is what it is. This form of the gemstone is also called Cape Ameythest since it is only mined in the Cape of South Africa. The large 3/4" puffed pillow beads are translucent in spots, with shots of white and deeper purple throughout. Sparked with the Czech Jablonex fire-polished glass round beads and freshwater baroque pearls it really is a feminine look but in a bold way. "Charms" dangle from a sterling silver ring of rings that pulls the three strands together and gives visual interest as well. This item is a bit larger and fits a medium to larger size wrist.
