And so the story...
There is something quite magical about obsidian in general; but this mahogany obsidian gemstone is in a class all by itself. My first encounter with this stone was in an exquisite bracelet crafted in Taxco, Mexico more than 20 years ago. It captured my heart and, sad to say, I did not buy that bracelet and it haunts me to this day! The gemstone beads used in these earrings have quite the same magic – look at them closely and you’re sure to understand my intrigue.
Apart from the visual charm, I love that rocks and crystals, including many I use in jewelry, have an energy all their own. Obsidian may help you cope with negativity and keep you centered in unstable times. And, it reminds you to not resist change while giving you the emotional stability in times of high stress. Now, who doesn’t need or want that? I’ll take a dozen please!
These earrings, in a choice of a gold-fill 4mm saucer post with butterfly backing or gold-fill earwire, have a drop of 1 ½” and pass my oh-so-picky "not heavy" test. Flashes of twisted textured rings dance in and out of round and cube cut highly polished gemstone beads. Way back when Pantone named French Roast a favorite color for Fall-Winter 2012 – in my mind there is nothing seasonal about these wonderful gems.
