What a sad, sad name for such a lovely gemstone. As you know, I have yet to meet a jasper I didn’t love and this one is really stunning. Browns, blacks and if you look closely you might see a bit of purple in these 12mm squares. I love playing with the multi-chain slightly unbalanced look and that shows in this piece. The big 1 ¼” wire-wrapped round bead is meant to sit slightly off-center – the antique gold-bronze textured chain complements the jasper and the bold wire bead. Smaller chain drapes in a lady-like way from the jasper beads – in complete contrast to the boldness of the piece. Sparkling in between the beads and chain, beautiful Czech glass beads, the best you can find. It makes me think steampunk! Who would have thought...me and steampunk? Well, clearly it has happened. Measures 8” with a ¾” extender – so it fits most wrists. And, remember, because the dimension of the beads is on the large size, the actual length of the bracelet needs to be a bit longer than what you would wear if it was a simple tiny chain. Oh, I can’t wait to hear what you would call the jasper. Muddy? I think not. Handmade in the USA using domestic and imported components. From the Tanya Lochridge Jewelry Trunk Show Collection.
