#0284 Rhodochrosite Sterling Silver Necklace
And so the story...
Rhodochrosite is one of my favorite stones. In Tucson, these beads grabbed me -- maybe because they reminded me of the heishe beads from my early, early, early days of making jewelry. Paired with silver-lined Japanese glass beads and Czech Jablonex fire-polished faceted rondelles and 10mm rounds, the light catches the translucent veins running though these 1/2" hand cut beads. The clear form of this gemstone is over-the-top expensive and not readily available -- but I love the opaque and translucent nature of these stones and I think you will too. The color makes me think of homemade strawberry ice-cream -- no artificial color -- just pure strawberries and cream. Yummy. Sterling silver clasp lets you adjust the necklace from 18" to 20".
Don't confuse rhodochrosite with the more common rhodonite -- the colors are quite different. While this necklace is pink, not to worry, it is not "bubble gum...I'm six" pink.
Handmade in the USA using domestic and imported components. From the Tanya Lochridge Jewelry Trunk Show Collection.
