#0522 Kazuri Bead Three's the Charm 2 Black & Gold Bracelet

And so the story...

Kazuri – just can’t get enough of these gorgeous beads. The black and gold design are high on the list of favorites. This is the second in the “Threes the Charm” Black and Gold Collection. This bracelet includes three new Kazuri bead designs. Can you guess which one moved to the top half of my favs list? The center bead is a cube and the outer beads are the one-inch puffed square shape. Complementing the glossy black and gold beads made in Kenya are the sparkliest (there’s that non-word again) Czech glass Jablonex fire-polish faceted glass beads in a two-way technique that includes crystal clear and gold. All you have to do is take a quick look at some of my other designs and you’ll see that this particular bead shows up in lots of my designs. So it’s true when I say it is one of my favorite Czech glass beads.

Look closely at this particular bracelet and you’ll see little bricks of black goldstone. Not the easiest to find, but the luck-fairy was sitting on my shoulder in Tucson and I found black goldstone in a few shapes and sizes. It is not a gemstone – goldstone is actually manmade – incorporating bits of copper into the molten glass to give the effect of gold. It was first created in 17th Century Venice. And, there’s your history lesson for the day!

In addition I worked in Czech fire-polish faceted rounds in jet and seed beads that peek in and out among the bigger beads. It all comes together with a high polished gold aluminum chain, closing with an oversized c-ring clasp, known as the signora clasp in the trade and my clasp of choice.

Measures 8 ¼” in length and has a one-inch extender. Keep in mind, the girth (don’t you just love that word – sounds just like what it is) makes the length fit a bit smaller than one would expect. Please don’t ask me to explain. If anyone out there has a concise explanation for this length fit dilemma email it to me. I’ll be happy to give you the credit for being so brilliant! While this bracelet looks fabulous all alone, I couldn’t resist the urge to style and stack it a bit. So, for your viewing pleasure, here are a few ideas to get your creative mind racing. And, if you want to learn more about the Kazuri beads click here or on the link shown at the bottom of this page “the Kazuri story” – it’s a very good thing and thanks so much to all of you for supporting the Kazuri bead effort.
