 “Old World” – my first thoughts when I look at this bracelet. I love carnelian, perhaps because it has been used in jewelry for years. Many of the glorious Etruscan pieces I saw in the Met in NYC included carnelian in their designs. I love how the gemstone just works with gold – especially the matte Florentine-type finish I used in this particular design. The fire that comes from the spectacular Czech glass faceted beads just adds to the intrigue of it all. Three strands give the bracelet a significant presence and they feel so good on the wrist. This bracelet works by itself; but you know me, I have to mix it up with others from my collection. So, here are a few examples of the looks I styled. The bracelet closes with a top-quality gold vermeil double toggle clasp so you get just the right fit – 7 ¼” to about 8 ¼”. Since the bracelet is weighty enough, the toggle clasp is secure.
