I love rhodochrosite and these dancing bits and bobs of gemstone really do it justice. The stone is a beautiful shade of pink and the lacy banding of cream are what make it recognizable as rhodocrosite. Not to be confused with rhodonite, rhodocrosite is slightly translucent and a bit more on the peach side of pink, where rhodonite is more on the mauve side. And, rhodonite does not have the lacy layers running through it. I was inspired to fetch these gemstones out of my Tucson stash when I was planting a beautiful geranium. Mother Nature never ceases to amaze me. These beautiful gemstones and flowers are yet another example of her expertise in the world of color creation.
This style adds just a touch of girly-girl to your look – and certainly will brighten your day every time someone tells you how pretty you look wearing them! The sterling silver cube measures about 5mm and closes with a sturdy post and butterfly clutch back. The gemstones fall about one inch from the bottom of the cube and are just the perfect size for any and all occasions. (Whenever I say that I always hear the TV sales rep in “Bridget Jones Diary” selling jewelry even after all these years.)
