Oh my – the color of these stones is beautiful. Yes, it is ruby in its rough form – kind of like milky aqua is to aquamarine, this ruby in the rough is to the glorious ruby gemstone. The color of these stones leans toward the pink side – not bubble gum pink, mind you, but a sophisticated, intriguing and enticing pink. People will be asking you about them, that’s for sure. Partnered with the simple, yet fancy sterling silver link, they remind me of the fabulous ironwork you see in some cities in Italy. I love a post with a butterfly clasp – just because for my ears it’s a better look than a leverback and these 5mm sterling silver ball posts could be stand-alone earrings with their significance. Drop measures about 1” from the bottom of the sterling ball stud and the link is just about ¾” wide. The ruby itself is an 8mm round bead – highly polished and just lovely.
