Wear it long or wear it short – the choice is yours with this beautiful thing. Forty, as in 40, glorious inches of mysterious glowing silver gray mother-of-pearl shell and freshwater pearls come together in this necklace. The bottom portion of the necklace, which is a double strand of delight, joins with upper single strands with the help of mother-of-pearl shell links. Worn long it lengthens the torso and wrapped to a shorter length it brings all the attention to your face. Keep in mind the freshwater pearls have personality – ringed baroque and very large, my guess is an average of 10mm. (Well that really isn’t a guess…I actually measured a few of them.) Anyhow, in the world of pearls, that’s pretty darn big. My hope is that you play with this piece – wear it long one day and then wrap it one long and one short with the toggle in the back the next, and then wrap it with the toggle positioned on one side a bit lower than your shoulder. And, please don’t think this is just for summer – with all the grays we are seeing in fashion these days, this is a lovely way to give life to a color that can be somewhat drab. 40” in length and closes with an easy-to-use sterling silver toggle. And, one last thing – not designed to be worn as a belt – so I beg you, please don’t style it that way.
