I bought these stones as green mist jasper in Tucson earlier in the year. This is the first chance I’ve had to work with them since then. Under the glass they are so interesting – they have the rolling ball look that you find in rhyolite. Lovely, really lovely. (Did I just quote Bridget Jones?) I partnered them with green baroque ringed freshwater pearls, with just enough personality and an interesting contrast to the jasper, I think. And to spark it all, I added Czech glass in a baroque nugget shape and a highly faceted and very glittery round bead. You know me…I love the unexpected…in jewelry, that is! The gemstone nuggets measure about 10mm x 15mm and are softly faceted. Glass beads and freshwater pearls are about 10mm in size. Substantial but not over-the-top and it feels magnificient on the wrist. Closing with an adjustable sterling silver toggle clasp – fits at 7 ½” and 8” so you can get a fit that is just right.
