Well, well, well. I am on a roll with the black cord these days. Maybe because I just want to feel hip and happening (or not); who knows? I had a friend who wanted to give a little trinket to her niece who is moving to London and so she asked for a version of the hip chick-surfer dudette necklace that is a favorite on the site. So I just let my imagination go and it was that design that inspired this piece. A variation of glitzy faceted and baroque-shaped clear glass beads (8mm to 12mm in size) lined up with small sterling silver charms – a fleur-de-lys for tradition; a star because you are the star in your movie; and a key to open any and all doors you encounter. When I think of London I think a bit edgy (for some reason I don’t think of the stodgy Queen side of the coin) so I took that feel and glammed it up a bit. Quite cute, actually. Measures 16” with a one-inch extender, closes with a lobster clasp with a glass bead that dangles from the extender chain. Cord is waxed cotton in black.
