#0530 Amethyst & Pearl Silver Potato Chip Bracelet
And so the story...
Sometimes simple is magnificent; case in point – this multi-hued amethyst bracelet. My trademark design is usually a three-strand, sometimes five-strand, bracelet or necklace. However, there are times when I sit at the bench in my studio and visualize a stunning design that is simply a single strand. This was one of those times.
When I bought these amethyst faceted gemstone beads in Tucson a little voice went off that said “showcase each bead” – and that is what this design does. The clear deep purple of the faceted rondelle is a great companion for the lighter colored large faceted round amethyst beads. Freshwater pearls with just a hint of silver add a special touch. The Florentine-finish “potato chip” beads in silver vermeil accent the gemstone beads without distracting from them. Kind of what we want in a boyfriend, right. A guy who makes us look great, without stealing the show himself! Just kidding…but maybe I’m not.
That being said, amethyst is a powerful stone associated with healing and growth – I’ll take that. Whether you believe in the inherent energy in gemstones or think it’s all a bunch of hocus-pocus – I’m sure you’ll love this bracelet just for the beauty of it. The bracelet measures 7 ¼” with a 1” extender and will work for most size wrists. It closes with an easy-to-use large silver-plate signore C-ring clasp and a bead dangles from the extender chain giving it a bit of weight, so putting the bracelet on a bit easier. See…it’s all about the engineering. This bracelet looks fantastic on its own but I do like it layered. I’ve styled it a few ways here to give your styling powers a kick start!
